Jos Prison

Here we are with the prisoners.

Each Monday I go with a few other ladies to the Jos Prison. We visit with the women who are there...usually there are 7. We sing, do a Bible study, and pray with them. It is such a neat time of fellowship and ministry! Normally, we are not allowed to take pictures...but 2 weeks ago we got special permission to bring a camera in.

It was an odd day. We were joined for this day by 5 women on a team from Ireland. When we arrived at the prison they were transporting a prisoner so we had to wait outside for a bit. Once we got in to the office area we were led upstairs (we had NEVER been up there before). Come to find out, the pastor who was helping us get the camera in had not yet received permission so we were waiting for that. After 15 minutes of waiting we finally decided to go without the camera and he would bring it to us if he could.

The prisoners knew that a team was coming this day so they prepared a special number for us. They sang a few songs with dances and then did a skit where each woman chose a character in the Bible who she wanted to be like. It was really beautiful.

After this the team led an incredible worship time and shared their testimonies...there was not a dry eye in the place! It wasn't until we were just about through that the pastor arrived with the camera! So, here are pictures of the women we minister to in Jos Prison...we not only have opportunities to share God's love with the prisoners, but also with the guards! How cool is that!

Here are the prisoners, the guards, the team and the ladies I go with.
